Michigan Sauna Fest

The Michigan Sauna Fest was created with the purpose of bringing together life-long sauna lovers with the sauna curious into a community of enjoying our State’s bounty of fresh water and quality heat.

This is not a trade show. Although we may have top-notch commercial sauna builders, a world-class sauna stove manufacturer, and a wide variety mobile saunas from throughout our region in attendance, they are gathered to celebrate here with the community at large.

Be prepared for a weekend of cold plunges in West Bay/Lake Michigan, and a sampling of the most creative and hand-crafted saunas from around Michigan, that many passionate hands have built into heated abodes to help us transcend into the season.

About Us:

We (Nick and Vlad) met in 2024 through a mutual friend in the sauna community (Fox & Flame Sauna of TC) who knew we were both dreaming up something similar. Although we came from different backgrounds, it was decided that we would find a way to gather sauna folks from around Michigan for a couple days of revelry.

That idea quickly turned into months and hours of putting together the inaugural Michigan Sauna Fest in downtown Traverse City (Clinch Park) in late February/March 2025. We became fast friends and gained a deeper appreciation for what it takes to work with someone in your community, and build a friendship based on continuity of that spirit towards a common cause.

We were not sure how it would be received by the public until the event itself ~10 mobile saunas, and over 350 people showed up to fully embrace the blustery conditions and play musical chairs along islands of heat that had popped-up along Lake Michigan’s “sauna peninsula.”

2026 Looks to bring even more mobile saunas to the Peninsula, and although we can’t promise that this will be what finally sends Winter on its way, we will at least “keep it at Bay.”
